About Me

As an attorney and partner at LightStone Law, I serve as fractional general counsel/ legal advisor for faith-driven & purpose-driven businesses and entrepreneurs in all aspects of business and corporate governance. With over 17 years of experience in corporate, business succession, real estate law, and related litigation, it is my honor to provide wise counsel to my clients, to achieve their legal and social goals.

I am honored to be recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star for eight consecutive years, as well as a Crain’s Grand Rapids (formerly) Grand Rapids Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” Business Leader for 2018. I also serve as a board member and corporate secretary for several non-profit and faith-based organizations, including Startup Garage, a nonprofit dedicated to developing redemptive entrepreneurs by equipping early-stage, faith-driven founders with intentional connections, cohorts and events to bring their ideas to life, and as a local ambassador for Faith Driven Entrepreneur. I serve on the advisory board for the ICLE Business Law Section and I enjoy writing and speaking about legal issues affecting my practice areas and my local community.

I am the past-Chairman of the Board of Directors for Mel Trotter Ministries, a gospel rescue mission in Grand Rapids, Michigan devoted to serve those experiencing homelessness. I have served as a mentor through Kids Hope USA & CBMC. Above any and all of my other passions in life, I am a follower of Jesus Christ.
