The Last 7 days have been full.
We started with a Labor Day weekend trip to the Upper Peninsula, joined by extended family, friends, and my son traveling from Bozeman, Montana with his girlfriend. The shortened work week was packed full of fall kick-off gatherings, kids sports, tours of businesses and local nonprofits, with weighty client meetings and boardroom discussions mixed in.
Amidst all of this, there is the “working on the business”, the “work” you feel called to do – building the business you feel a deep conviction to live out. If you don’t do it, no one will. So you feel the weight.
It is amazing how we can spend much of our daily lives surrounded by many people and yet feel so alone at times. Like we are walking on a path by ourselves.
Entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey. But it doesn’t have to be. We were created for connection.
The power of the ask
I sat down with an entrepreneur recently who was overwhelmed by his financial struggles of getting his startup off the ground. I could feel the weight he was carrying. My words to him: “there are so many people who would love to help you, if you just asked.“
