Today’s State News Headline: MSU Trustee Rema Vassar files lawsuit, claims racial discrimination.
Earlier this year I wrote a guest opinion for Spartans Illustrated on various issues surrounding the MSU Board of Trustees – The Manifestations of a Low-Trust Board.
I am not opining as to the merits of the claims contained in the underlying lawsuit; just stating that such a lawsuit, a trustee suing other trustees, is further manifestation of a low-trust board.
Organizations of every size need to focus on the main thing:
appointing trustworthy board members.
Trust = character & competency.
Look for people with high character. (high morals & integrity).
Look for competent people (those who understand good governance).
The rest will take care of itself.
